Alfred’s Coffee on Melrose Place

I am not a coffee connoisseur but I can’t help but be drawn to coffee shops with their aromatic coffee scent floating about the room and the interior decor that makes staying for a couple of hours enjoyable. The great thing about living in LA is that there are ample amounts of coffee shops, particularly on the west side of the city, that you can visit. Tucked away in a quiet one-way street in Pasadena, within walking distance to Caltech and Pasadena City College, is this charming old gas station with adorable retro gas pumps. Just a few months ago, this gas station used to be the home of Motordogs – a classic hot dog stand, which I am sad to report I’ve always wanted to try but never did. And now, this place has transformed to house the handcrafted Afters ice cream. I saw their menu…
