DTLA Flower Market

There are a couple of Los Angeles florists that I follow on instagram, and I am always amazed at the flowers that they use in their work. Some of the flowers they use look so exotic, and nothing like the stuff I see in my local grocery store. But if you’re willing to make the trip to Downtown Los Angeles in the wee hours of the morning, you, too, can buy yourself those flowers. There has only been a few times…

California Dreamin’

West Coast, Best Coast, am I right?! Last year, I wrote a post on reasons why I love New York. It seemed about time that a list was made for my home state – golden California. California, specifically the southern part of the state (Los Angeles and San Diego) has been my home since I can remember. I never thought much about what this state has to offer, until I started traveling to other parts of the country and realized…

Afters Ice Cream on Green St.

Tucked away in a quiet one-way street in Pasadena, within walking distance to Caltech and Pasadena City College, is this charming old gas station with adorable retro gas pumps. Just a few months ago, this gas station used to be the home of Motordogs – a classic hot dog stand, which I am sad to report I’ve always wanted to try but never did. And now, this place has transformed to house the handcrafted Afters ice cream. I saw their menu…

Checking In: InterContinental San Francisco

For our recent trip to San Francisco, we ended up staying at InterContinental San Francisco. InterContinental hotels are the luxury hotels from the IHG hotel group, and this would be the first time I would be staying in one, so I thought I’d write a review of my first impression! ‘ LOCATION: The main allure of this place to us was the location – it was only a couple of blocks away from Union Square. Maybe a five minute walk.…

Art Appreciation in Santa Fe

Going through some photos from last year, I realized I missed a couple of places from New Mexico, the main one being Santa Fe – one of the reasons Joseph and I wanted to take a trip to this state in the first place! As a whole, New Mexico is so different from the rest of the country, and you can definitely see it in their two main cities. There is such a beautiful spirit that blends the Spanish and the…

Small Town of Julian

Out into the countryside of San Diego is a small town called Julian, known for their apples. Apple orchards, apple picking, apple pies! Yum! I ventured out there in December, mainly because I had a client photo engagement session arranged there, but my friend Cara actually knows the bride, so she and I decided to make a little outing out of it before the photo session started. Such a cute and charming used book store! Can you tell what we…

Time to Get a Watch

Ah, the old retort when you ask someone for the time – “time to get a watch.” Well, no more! One of my favorite presents I’ve received this holiday season was this slim black watch from Skagen, given by sweet fiance. He confessed to me that although he isn’t fashion-forward, he did see this watch on the pages of Conde Naste and ended up picking one for me while on his recent trip to Denmark. Yay to Conde Naste for…

Parabo Press Review

During the holidays, I came across an Instagram sponsored post for a printing company called Parabo Press that offered 25 free 5″x5″ prints + cost of shipping ($8). The advertisement suggested printing photos from Instagram, and it seemed like a good idea to print some of my favorite images from my Instagram feed, so I gave it a whirl and ordered a batch. The ordering process was very simple. As of now, they only take orders through their Android or…

One Infinite Loop

Everyone knows that Silicon Valley is the mecca of tech companies. To name a few – Apple, Google, Facebook, Intel, HP, LinkedIn, Netflix, and the list just keeps going. For a non-techie like myself, I only hear stories of what the place is like because it’s so exclusive to those whose lives don’t revolve around the newest software or computer-related trends. And it’s this elusiveness that draws me in and makes me want to visit this special world of nerdiness.…

Christmas in San Francisco

These days, my idea of Christmas is spent traveling. Last year, my family and I went to the Grand Canyon for our first ever family trip. The year before that, I joined Joseph and his mom for a road trip to Utah where we ultimately stayed in Zion for a few days. This year, it was only me and my beloved fiance spending a couple of nights over Christmas together as we took a car ride to beautiful San Fransokyo…
