FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF FLORIDA

MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you’ll know I’ve been in Florida, more specifically in Merritt Island and Orlando, this past week or so. (If not, well… there was a shameless plug!). My boyfriend and I came here to spend Thanksgiving with his family, and he left after one week, abandoning me with his sweet family while I stay another week. We have had such a blast this past week though, which I shall write in…

Little Favorites

Okay, I’ve been on a little spending spree, it seems. My wallet seems a little sad, but the good thing is, I’ve been happy with all my purchases (no buyer’s remorse, here!) as they have improved my lifestyle just a little more. None of the items on the list have been impulse purchases, btw. A lot of thought, revisiting the websites to drool, and reading countless comments were made before I hit the ‘purchase’ button (except for the measuring cup,…

One Night in Nevada

HENDERSON, NEVADA Something that is a bit of a hobby for my boyfriend Joseph is collecting hotel points and airline miles. I love that he does this because it means going on various ‘staycation’ around the area, and it insentivizes him to take us places locally that we wouldn’t otherwise go. For example, the Lake Tahoe trip was planned because he needed to complete a Hyatt promotion. More recently, we made several trips back-to-back out to Indio for another Hyatt challenge.…

The Death of Salton Sea

SALTON SEA, CALIFORNIA During the summer, Joseph and I stayed at Indian Wells (near Palm Springs) for a few days. At that time, we made our way out of the hotel territory (where air conditioning and a cool pool was readily available) out to the Salton Sea that’s located near the Coachella valley. Going there, I knew nothing about the sea. But as we drove to it, there was just an eerie feeling of abandonment. It started with run-down /…

Brief Walk through Hermosa Beach Pier

HERMOSA BEACH, CALIFORNIA When it comes to Los Angeles, I really don’t wander out to the west very much because it’s just so much work to do so. Traffic is normally heavy at the beach cities, it’s a long drive, and parking is not the easiest. But when I am asked to photograph a family portrait session out in that area, of course I make the journey over and I try to kill two birds with one stone by sticking around…

In the Minority with Pumpkin Spiced Latte

Fall is now upon us, though I’m not sure the Los Angeles weather is quite aware of this fact just yet. But clearly Starbucks and its coffee fanatics are very much in-tuned with the calendar as their favorite seasonal Fall drink ‘Pumpkin Spiced Latte’ has hit the menu. I am not a big coffee drinker. I drink coffee mainly for social situations. My preferred drink is Rose Milk Green Tea (I’m trying to quit but failing pretty badly). But anyway, back…

Bad Day Gone Good, Pt. III : A Surprise Boys II Men Concert

GLENDALE, CALIFORNIA On the final leg of our day, my friend and I just wanted to sit and relax somewhere over a cup of coffee. This led us to the Glendale Galleria and the Americana mall, in hopes we can find a nice cafe somewhere. Though we didn’t find a cafe, we ended up walking around Americana and was surprised to find a horde of people in line. We didn’t think anything of it and began window shopping. When we…
